Regarding an experiential learning program for undergraduate students:

“Learning by Leading completely changed what path I was going to take after graduating from college. Since starting this program, it has opened my eyes to the possibilities in this career field, and I have found a master's program that is perfect for me, as well as my dream internship. If not for this program, I never would have thought to research these topics.”

Former Learning by Leading™ participant

After earning an undergraduate degree in economics, this student pursued graduate work in environmental education.

Garden begins infrastructure improvements, preparing for additional trails and parking

The State Botanical Garden at the University of Georgia recently started making infrastructure improvements to its driveway. This is the first step in a series of improvements planned for the garden over the next several years, called the Gateway to the Garden project. The Gateway to the Garden project will include an updated entranceway, improved trail access, and additional parking to accommodate the increasing number of visitors the State Botanical Garden welcomes annually.

Nancy and Glenn Black's generosity transforms the State Botanical Garden of Georgia

Nancy and Glenn Black are two of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia’s staunchest supporters, giving generously both with their time and personal resources. Nancy has lent her talents to the garden since 2002 and serves on the board of directors of the Friends of the Garden. Glenn, a UGA alumnus, shares Nancy’s passion for the state’s botanical treasure.  Together, the couple, who have been married for 54 years, made three major gifts to the garden this past year.
