The Project Management Certificate Program is a fantastic introduction to the fundamentals of project management. The instructor approaches teaching by engaging students with thought-provoking discussion, group projects, and break-out sessions that require planning, critical thinking, and a lot of collaboration.

Mentorship at Georgia Center opens doors for students in hospitality program

Emily Or began her freshman year at the University of Georgia as a classics major, with thoughts of law school in her future. Then she discovered the Hospitality and Food Industry Management (HFIM) program, and her plans quickly changed. One of nine paid HFIM interns at the Georgia Center this semester, Or was one of the first students to have a mentor from the center’s staff to guide and encourage her as she learned on the job.

UGA hospitality program takes flight with $5M from The Delta Air Lines Foundation

The Delta Air Lines Foundation has committed $5 million to the University of Georgia Hospitality and Food Industry Management program. The investment will expand hands-on learning opportunities for students by launching the renovation of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel — the primary training ground for HFIM students — to include teaching facilities for event management, culinary arts and hotel operations.
